Lorenzo Chiavarini

Many of you will have followed Lorenzo’s terrific progress in the Laser Radial over the past couple of years. his hard work, dedication and ability have been rewarded with selection for the Bank of Scotland Local Heroes initiative. He will receive financial support, but as part of the scheme he is in great company with many other Olympic Champions and hopefuls, and will no doubt learn much about sport in the wider context from this.

Lorenzo’s primary goal for this season is a top ten place in the Laser Standard Junior Championships in France.

Princess Sofia Olympic Classes Regatta, Spain

A great set of results from RNCYC members. The burgeoning 470 helm Anna Burnett achieved a very creditable 39th place in a very hot fleet. An excellent result considering her move into the class is very recent.

Charlotte Dobson continues to produce good, strong, consistent results of the Laser Radial Fleet, finishing 13th on this occasion. Charlotte is currently ranked 11th and top Brit, so a great prospect for Olympic season.

Luke Patience added to his medal collection with another bronze. A great string of results included 3 bullets and a solid performance in the medal race which has been a bit of an Achilles heel for him in the past.

These are all terrific results and we wish them all continued success!

Young Natalie is a relatively new member of the Club. She is a windsurfer and a hot prospect for the future. She has just completed the RYA Spring Championship where she placed 1st Girl and 2nd Overall and spent much of April in Portland, training.
Look out for more great results.
