Social

Club life revolves around sailing in its many forms and the social programme reflects that with events related to weekly race programmes, regattas, junior training, cruising activity and sailing development during the season. The winter programme also has a sailing bias with technical and performance talks enhanced with more general interest presentations. The Club aims to provide a number of purely social activities over the year. The objective is to have something of interest to the membership happening every week of the year. The Club runs a Monday bridge club in the winter and organises a reels night monthly. Pilates classes run on a Friday at lunchtime and computing classes are currently popular. Major sporting events like the Six Nations rugby matches are shown on a big screen in the bar.

Bar and Dining

The Club has an impressive array of accommodation giving members a variety of venues for casual eating and drinking as well as for more formal dining and major events. Weddings are a regular feature at the Club and our resident caterers can provide fare to suit every type of family gathering. The main Clubroom is multi-functional with a bar area and casual dining tables and lounge area with settees around the fire; all of this in a tastefully understated nautical decor incorporating our extensive collection of historic yacht half models. Daily lunches (except Mondays) and Friday Gastro Pub evening meals are supplemented by occasional Saturday Fine Dining, a monthly Sunday carvery, weekly sailing suppers during the season and the very popular buffet hot meals accompanying many of the social events throughout the year.
